Dishwasher diverter failures
WebJan 5, 2024 · Possible causes: (1) DW gives trouble code 9-1 (Electronic control board can't detect the position of the diverter disc). Diverter motor was replaced ~2 months ago (motor failed due to water seepage around seal), and has worked fine since then. (2) DW gave code 3-1 (Thermistor/OWI sensor failure), so I replaced the sensor this morning.

Continuity of both power wires and position switch back to the control board is good. With the diverter motor running, I checked the position switch continuity and saw that it opened and closed as the diverter stepped through its cycle.
